The 9.7 Inch iPad to be Released in 2018

Apple managed to surprise its user after the 9.7-inch iPad was released and many believe that next year the company will come with something similar.

Based on Digitimes’ reports, Apple might release another version of the 9.7-inch iPad next year. It appears that the upcoming product will have a starting price that will be cheaper than the one of its equivalent.

Next year, users might buy the 9.7-inch iPad for only $259. This is a big price drop since Apple launched this model at $329. According to the report, “the device should be able to attract more demand from price-oriented consumers, allowing Apple to maintain its present 10 million-unit tablet shipments a quarter.” It appears that the new model is supposed to be a rival for other budget tablets from important tech companies such as Samsung, Lenovo and Huawei.

This decision makes sense since the iPad sales began to slow down before the release of this year’s model. Now Apple has to take advantage of the momentum and release something that will also attract the customers who are more price-oriented. Additionally, tablet users usually tend to wait more years to upgrade their device.

The new 9.7-inch iPad is supposed to come the second quarter of 2018. The report also wrote that “in addition to regular consumers Apple is also looking to expand the inexpensive iPad into the industrial and service sectors.”

2017 9.7-inch iPad features

The current version of the 9.7-inch iPad was released earlier this year in March. The tablet has 2 GB of RAM and it comes with an A9 chipset. Its processor has the M9 motion co-processor. It has multiple variants, and the base one has 32 GB of storage. Users are also able to choose the 128 GB version.
