Force stop the app

If the application is frozen what you can do here is to force close it, and then launch it again. To do that, go to Settings > Apps find the app that keeps freezing, tap on it and click Force stop. Go back to the Home screen and start the app again. Hopefully, it will work just fine now.

Restart your device

Do you have tons of app running in the background? Many of us do because we launch many apps and don’t close them properly. They keep on reading and clogging the memory, but not just that. These apps and processes are also eating up the battery life. So, you should restart your device for the reason that it will kill all the background processes and it will free up the memory in a second. To do that, press the Power button and when the power menu appears on the screen, tap on Restart.

Update applications

You need to make sure that the apps you have are up to date so they can run smoothly. Go to the Home screen, launch Play Store app, tap on three horizontal lines and when the menu opens, tap on “My apps & games”. Then, go to “Installed” section and tap on Update all.

Clear cache and data

When one of the apps is constantly crashing or freezing right after you launch it, you should clear its cache and data. To do that, go to Settings, tap on Apps, find the app that is acting strangely, tap on it and tap Clear cache. If that doesn’t work, and if the problem is still there, you should clear data, but keep in mind the info the application stored will be deleted, for instance, your username and password, or high score if it’s the game. Go to Settings > Apps > tap on the misbehaving app and tap Clear data.

Clean install

Still having issues? You should try a clean install. Delete the app completely. Tap on its icon from the Home screen and drag it to the “Uninstall” field. Then, go to Play Store and download the application.

Update the software

You should see if there is the software update available. Updates bring improvements, and they also fix the bugs. Go to Settings > About phone > System Updates > Check now. If there is an update, just tap on Install.

Usually, one of these solutions fixes the problem. If that doesn’t happen, you may  perform factory data reset, report the problem to the app developers or replace the app with some similar application (if possible).
