How to fix Galaxy Note 10 sound issues

The Galaxy Note 10 is one of the best smartphones by Samsung and people love it. It has some great features, but its users still face some issues. In this tutorial, we will discuss how to fix Galaxy Note 10 sound issues. If your phone has no sound or you are experiencing sound and volume issues, here are a few things you can try.

Solutions

Solution 1: Try to increase the volume

Note 10 has no separate controls to adjust the call volume for outgoing or incoming calls. The only way to increase the volume is to use the side volume up button during a call. The other option to increase the volume is to activate the ear speaker volume.

Solution 2: Check the volume and notification settings

If your Note 10 has a lower volume than usual, you need to check the volume for the notifications and installed apps. Follow these steps:

  1. Open the Settings app
  2. Select “Sounds and vibration” from the list
  3. Select “Sound mode” and tap on “Sound”
  4. Tap on Volume
  5. Slide the bar to the maximum
  6. Go back to the previous menu
  7. Put all the items to the maximum volume.

Check if the issue is fixed. Otherwise, go to the next solution.

Solution 3: Wipe the cache partition

Smartphones use cache to load the apps fast. If you face volume issues after updating or installing apps, there could be a system cache issue. To refresh the cache, follow these steps:

  1. Shut down the device
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up key and Power key
  3. When the Android logo appears, release both keys. (Installing system update will appear for 30 – 60 seconds)
  4. Then the "Recovery screen menu" will show, and then using the Volume down key, navigate to "Wipe Cache Partition." Press the Power button to select and highlight "yes."
  5. After confirmation, your device will clear the cache
  6. Reboot the phone and check the sound.

Solution 4: Applying forced reboot

Rebooting your device is always helpful in resolving minor bug issues. For sound issues, a forced reboot can also do the trick. Try rebooting the device normally by pressing the Power key to enter the boot menu, selecting the restart option, and checking for the issue.

If the regular restart does not work, follow these steps:

  1. Press and hold the Volume Down key first and do not release it
  2. While holding it down, press and hold the Power key
  3. Keep both keys on hold for 10 seconds or more.

Solution 5: Reset network settings

If the issue is only related to incoming or outgoing calls, resetting the network settings may fix the issue. Here are the steps to reset the network settings:

  1. Open the Settings app and tap on "General management."
  2. Tap on "Reset"
  3. Click on "Reset network settings"
  4. Select Reset settings to confirm.

If your phone is still facing the issue, try the next solution.

Solution 6: Boot into Safe Mode

A third-party app may be disturbing the volume function of the device. To check the issue, boot into safe mode by following these steps:

  1. Turn off your device and turn it back on. Once you see the Samsung logo appear, press and hold the Volume down key until the Safe mode prompt appears
  2. When you see the "Safe mode" option on the bottom left corner of the screen, release the Volume down key
  3. Check if the sound is working normally here. If yes, then a third-party app is responsible for the problem.
  4. Start uninstalling apps one by one. Try to remove the most recently installed apps first.
  5. After uninstalling the apps, check if the problem has been resolved or not.

If after trying all these solutions and your problem is not resolved, visit a Samsung store nearby.
