Music is the heart of Apple’s devices. From 2001, Apple has been providing the best service in digital music content by selling songs from their online store known as the iTunes Store. iTunes Store exists from 2003. Apple has made Mac and iOS devices in such a way to be well integrated with the iTunes Store. On iOS devices like the iPhone, users enjoy when buying songs from the iTunes Store, because everything is so simple and easy. Just one tap and the song will be available in the Music Application on the iPhone.
Of course, we often use the iPhone to listen to the music, but there are times when you are in front of your iMac at your home and you want to listen the music you’ve downloaded to your iPhone. How to transfer purchased songs from my iPhone to iTunes?
The preparatory for the steps below is:
Make sure you have updated the iTunes application on your computer to the latest version, and sign in with the Apple ID on iTunes (1)
Then go to Store menu >> Authorize this computer (1), enter your Apple ID
Transfer songs manually
- plug iPhone to iTunes
- click File >> Device >> Transfer Purchase from …. (1)

To activate this service, perform the following steps in the iTunes application on your computer
- On the Menu bar, click iTunes >> Preferences (Mac) or click Edit >> Preferences (Windows)
- In the preferences window, click the Store tab (1) and then check the categories of content to be downloaded automatically (2).
On your iPhone, Go to Settings >> iTunes and App Store on the AUTOMATIC DOWNLOADS swipe on Music
With activating automatic download, all things you have downloaded on one device will appear on other devices.
